For Brett!

So. Fifth reunion was awesome. More on that later. Because now I'm in South Korea. But first, I wanted to put up a couple videos for one of the people we missed the most last weekend, namely, Brett Zivic. Brett, we miss you and we love you and we highly encourage that you keep your eye on Michael Zimmer for the duration of this clip.

Sorry, Poker Fans

I just deleted all the poker tournaments and porn parties from our Stuff You Should Do page. I know, that wasn't very nice of me. But I just couldn't stomach the thought of looking at the venue information for the "Best Porn Collection on the Net!" for the next three years.

Bonnie Sue, This Post's For You

You know, just when I start feeling like I don't know why I write this, since no one ever comments on it, I have a little moment of inspiration. Such as last night, when, at a salon held at the lovely Ellie's house, Nate introduced me to Bonnie Sue Hitchcock, in from Alaska, who apparently actually reads this blog. You can imagine my delight when she not only claimed to check and enjoy it, but actually proved it--quoting, for example, the fact that Nick Frankfurt likes turtles.

Bonnie, from me, the blog, and the turtles, thank you so much. I am reinspired.

Happy Valentine's Day, Saltines!

Catherine here, deciding all on her own that the occasion of Valentine's Day warrants a "Lovin' From the Editors" category listing. But I'm sure that U-Jean, as he's called on the streets, will agree with the mutual love-fest that is this posting.

So, like, what are you guys doing for Valentine's Day? Here' s something I did: went to a craft fair with Valentine's Day-themed sock monkeys. At said craft fair, I had to go around interviewing artists about why, exactly, they'd decided to start making wallets out of paint chips (they were quite pretty, actually), in an attempt to get material to put together a Valentine's Day-themed flash slide show. Then I fell asleep at 10.

Then last night my friend Natalie and I went to a party in San Francisco where we narrowly avoided getting called up on stage for a dating game, and where, when I put down my wine glass and filled up a cup of water at the bar, an older man with some sort of European accent said, "Don't take yourself so seriously." Unclear how exactly water (with a twist of lemon, I'll have you know) meant that I was taking myself seriously, but we didn't stick around to discuss it and instead headed back to the East Bay early enough to have taken BART. It was like, way romantic.

That's all neither here nor there, really--just wanted the blog to get a little loving. So happy Valentine's Day to all--and please, if you feel so inspired, send us resumes of your dating lives! Nothing helps you move forward toward the future like quantifying your past.
