Procrastinator's Toolbox

Unlike Minesweeper, taxes are still no fun (or "Taxes have not gotten any funner so let's blow this shit up")

Minesweeper ... and yes, this SMPTer is still doing them.  With even less time to go.  Maybe's now a good time to play Minesweeper.  Yeah.  That sounds good to me.  Yeah...

Trading like it's 1999

Stockybears Blogshares is "a fantasy stock market for weblogs where players get to invest a fictional $500, and blogs are valued by incoming links."  For people who like stocks and like blogs, but have no stocks because they have no money which may or may not be related to the fact that they like blogs.

I don't know what I'm talking about.  Fucking Daylight Savings.

End the Debate

Ever argue with your buddy about the quickest way to get somewhere using the fabled New York City subway system? Consider this your umpire: www.hopstop.com.

It tells you the fastest way to get there by train and how to get where you're going after you exit the station.

thanks to Mr. Roboto for this one!

Kartoo that shit.

geneslifeonkartoo

For those of you who love the search capabilities of Google, but are obsessed with the way Friendster shows you your links with people, try kartoo.com! It's a search engine that displays results as an interconnected web (the graphic on the left is the result of searching for "Gene Perelson"). It's the ultimate six degrees of separation.

Beat the Google!

009_6
Sometimes, when I'm feeling really bored (and haven't had human interaction all day) I play games with Google. Being an inanimate search engine, it has no choice but to do what I say. Here is a challenge: find Google searches that come up with no results. The shorter your search request, the more points you get for stumping Google. For example, putting something in quotes like "Hah! Just try to find this quote, ice cream midgets with broccoli spears! Ramalama Ding Dong!" is not going to get you many points. However, something like "Feminine Pistols" (which, incidentally, brings back no search results), will earn you praise in the eyes of many. Or, at least, several points in this game.

Now it's your turn! Post your best finds in the comments section!
