Character on the Couch is another SMPT take from the UK's The Guardian. Each week, them zany Brits are "subject[ing] drama's great personalities to psychoanalysis." But being thems zany Brits that they are, them zany Brits take it one step further.
They aren't just putting the famous on the couch. No, they have to make it all complicated-like and take an actor playing a celebrity on TV and interview him/her as his/her television persona. And then they get other actors to play the role of the psychoanalyst but who aren't actually psychoanalysts. So, for example, this week them same zany Brits have "Prince Charles, appearing in the TV drama Whatever Love Means, being played by Laurence Fox."
It's a bemused crumpety hoot. Once you get it. Until then, it's just kinda confusing and makes you think "There goes them zany Brits again... Now where's my tea?"
Thanks to Sohyun "Shorty Spice" Kim for this one.
